Princess Avengers: HULK by Christopher-Stoll Princess Avengers: HULK by Christopher-Stoll
The next piece in my Princess Avengers crossovers series!

I ended up going with an unusual mix of features for this one. Marrying the distinct visual styles of the Avenger's universe with that of Disney's cartoons is difficult enough, but this one had so many discordant elements that I must have drawn and redrawn it a dozen times before I found anything I liked. The realistic visual style adds another hurdle, I need to create a realistic revision of these old 2D cartoons BEFORE I even consider the addition of the Avenger character. This one is supposed to be mid transformation, but I'm not sure how well it comes across. I think I'm getting better at marrying the character's different styles, this one seems to gel...
Then again, if you totally disagree then you should leave a comment. A really long and detailed one! Maybe several! :D *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*

Honestly....
This piece is not quite done. But I've been delaying for so long that I wanted to put it out there and gauge the reactions... It's a vulnerable thing for an artist, but I think can deal with people seeing my work in stages that are "less than complete." I hope that they will see the attempt, and judge accordingly.
I'll be uploading a cleaner version with more detail in the shirt rips, and more transformation!!

Many, Many, Many reference pics were incorporated into this piece, if you think your work has been unfairly plagiarized please leave a comment. This work was not created for private profit, it is a parody only. Marvel's the Avengers and snow white (in her current form) are both property of Disney Corp (It's convenient because I'll only be sued once!) please do not share, recreate, or sell without permission (or steal my dog).
People have recently let me know that one of the pics I used as the basis for this piece is of a cosplayer known as Tallest Silver, you should give her a look. Honestly, I never thought I'd find out who it was. No disrespect intended.

If you like this piece then please CHECK OUT MY OTHER AVENGING PRINCESSES HERE

Fun concept. I know subtlety isn't at all the point here, but I honestly think it'd make a stronger statement if the rips in her shirt didn't show quite so much of the left breast there... like her nipple is a fraction of a second from popping out into the world. We could have a really amazing, strong feminine hulk without feeling like it's her knockers alone that are about to bowl us over? Let that powerful, fierce face do a bit more of the talking!!

Interesting you should notice that, I tried to make her breasts the average size for female superheroes. In her genre they looked natural for a female heroine when she had the shirt on, but as soon as I started adding tears it became apparent that what is "normal" for a superhero is actually a quite grotesque warping of the female form.

Hey cool, it's Tallest Silver only in Hulk form. You should really give credit to the original image.

yup, wondering why my comments was hidden too. Just credit your model, we can all see what you did here, so give credit where it's due. That face, those boobs, most of that pose, that's a widely circulated photo of Tallest Silver taken by our good friend John Austin. His composition is amazing, and the emotions he got out his model helped you create this art.

I placed a correction in the deviation's description mentioning Tallest Silver, and I'm planning to release a journal apologizing. It was an old pic I based it on and I wasn't sure who it belonged to.
I hid your comment because I thought people might respond/message me without reading through the deviation's modified description.

:P I'm messaging silvertallest at the moment. The process is already underway. At first the Princess Avengers were just practice, I never intended to release them or for them to become popular. Aside from the Hulk one (where I didn't know who to credit) the others were only heavily inspired by cosplay photography/traditional art/stock images. There wasn't a piece that was used as the basis for the picture, only references that were redrawn.
Pocahontas and Jasmine look like notable cosplay pics, so I'll credit. But they were carefully re-drawn in the interest of copyright protection.

I don't think that's fair or even entirely right that you deleted the comments pointing out who the model was. There's nothing wrong with taking inspiration from a photo, if anything it was more of a request to just give credit where it is due. If you want people to credit you for these works you've done... then it's only fair you credit the models which you took inspiration from.

Excuse me, why did you hide my comment? It's starting to go around right now that you used my friend Tallest Silver's face in the image, so before things get worse, it would be awesome if you could tip her a nod of credit in your (already very long) description. Definitely the upright, responsible thing to do!

Again, this is a great series and you picked a good model, so no hard feelings about the choice! :)

I have to admit this is my least fav. out of all 4 you have done so far, I think the shirt ripping at the bust is distracting from the rest of the picture... i think if maybe you put a little move cover there and made some rips at the waist and a sleeve it might make the picture a bit more cohesive..right now the shirt looks like it has been cut.. not really stretched and torn since it is just over the bust.. where often there is a bit more material because of the need to fit it over the breasts so it might even be closer to the last place to rip.. but that is neither here nor there.. I like the look of the eyes i think it catches the look of banner in the movie really well.. and the arms look well done.. the hair could use a little work.. over all i think your other 3 are better executed.. hope this helps..I am not trying to be mean just give you some useful feedback.

I love how you've handled her femininity in this piece. You've successfully avoided the "she-hulk syndrome", which is how I describe turning a female version of the hulk into a six foot three, green skinned supermodel. Snow White here remains feminine, and yet monstrous. I'm seriously looking forward to your next updates with this series :)
And the (too) obvious choice for Black Widow is Ariel. I'd save her for Thor/Sif, because, you know, children of gods and whatnot. As far as Black Widow goes, all I can say, is "Meg". Unless you intend to do Maria Hill. Megara would be fantastic as Agent Hill.

I'll be honest, I'm not to sure what to think. I like the concept, but I;m not sure the execution of this one is as effective as your other princess avengers, especially jasmin and mulan. There's something that really bothers my about the sleeves. I am looking forward to a cleaner, more detailed version of this one. Maybe that will clear up whatever issue I have with it. Overall, great work, I look forward to seeing more of this set.

=w=;; I actually don't find this an unusual crossover at all--considering that I'm frequently compared to both Banner and Snow White by personality quizzes, I find this fits quite well, haha.

I also find it very well-done. ;)
